In the early 1920s, Kimberly-Clark, a paper manufacturer, was expanding and had developed creped wadding for its first ever consumer product, Kotex.
Kotex was a feminine hygiene product that was having a hard time being successful.
To help the not so successful Kotex, Kimberly Clark created Kleenex, the disposable cleansing tissue.
Woo no more hankies!
Kleenex then became very popular and both brands became successful.
Woo history lesson!
